Who is the Big 12 going to go after?

  • There's no way the Big 12 isn't going to start looking around some now with the Big 10 making another power grab, and the knocks from the media of there being no CCG. So who all gets in?

I for one hope Louisville gets in somehow, but it seems like FSU and Clemson are going to be the first targets

  • The best scenerio for Big12 is FSU,VT,Clemson nd Lcille that is also the best thing for WVU if any of those r the ones

My priority would be FSU and VT, in that order.

Those who fail to prepare are preparing to fail!

  • Regardless of which ACC teams decide to actually leave, I'm so glad that UNC has to deal with the backlash of not wanting us to join last year. Hindsight is 20/20

  • Targets will be FSU, Clemson, GT, VT, and Louisville. FSU BOT wants out, president wants to stay. BOT always trumps the president. I honestly think Clemson goes down with the ship and stays. It will be interesting if VT accepts, or takes a chance and waits for an SEC offer.

It should be fun to watch, I know that.

  • I hope Virginia tech gets invited to the big 12, how exciting would that be for us wvu fans

unfortunately I think the B12 is going to sit on the sideline and let the expansion world pass them by

  • If possible, I would prefer FSU/VPI...

I am not buying into anything just yet though
We have been down countless expansion roads before with nothing coming of it. If we add I would prefer to stop at 12 with 2 quality opponents. I keep hoping that we dont end up with Louisville but fear they will be the easiest target and want in the most

  • My consideration would be both FSU and VPI. One more would be the U once they get their NCAA sanctions over with. With all that in mind Louisville deserves a home as well, and I think they would do well in the Big XII.

I am concern you are correct. I had always believed we would expand to help you by having closer teams, but no longer sure that is true.

Its tough to imagine them not being in the same conference as Virginia. I beleive their Govener was the one that made this happen 10 years ago!

  • Big 12 should go after Clemson, FSU, one of the NC schools, UofL, VT if they are still there and maybe 1-2 other targets with trying to get to 16 teams.

Heck, NDame could be back in play.

  • I really wouldn't mind seeing Louisville coming onboard. VT might get an invitation, but I think they will get so much pressure to stay that they will stay in the ACC.

Although, more money can ease the pain of political pressure.

    SEC/Big12 merger anyone???whistling

I know this for sure though, its much better being on THIS side of the fence.

  • I'd grab Louisville for sure. It'd be adding the most profitable college basketball team and a respectable football squad.

Cincy would be cool if their games were played at the Bengals stadium.

  • The SEC has 3 teams in the top 5 of the BCS not only because they are good but because they have not ALL had to play each other. UGA and BAMA could win the SEC by each only beating 1 top SEC team. They each lost one and have beaten 2 teams with coaches who have already been fired and Auburn.

The Big 12 schedule is more difficult across the board right now and even schedules for every team. Florida,LSU,SC, and TandM have all played a lot tougher schedule than the 2 SEC who can win the division.

I would like to see the Big 12 go to 12-14 teams, play an 8 game schedule but instead of playing 2 cupcakes out of conference, play 2 OOC games against teams from our own conference to start the season that do not count against conference standings. This would allow our teams to gain some great opening 2 weekend TV money. This would increase our teams strength of schedule without helping another conference.

In order to do that, the conference needs 3-4 more. I would like to see FSU, VT,Clemson and GT.

    Every year WVU would play:
    GT
    VT
    FSU
    Clemson
TCU-last team to arrive so throw them to east.
Iowa state-leaves the state rivalries all in tact
And would rotate the other 7 for conference schedules and OOC schedules.
