Im not propping the man up but saying that if you fire him why not fire the man who witnessed it an did nothing but make a phone call to daddy an JoePa. When you single out one individual like Penn St did it had the look an feel of a witch hunt.

Isn't that the exact opposite of a witch hunt? But anyway, they also fired the president and AD so I wouldn't say Joe Pa took all the blame. Sounds like your problem is with the lack of consequences for McQueary, not the criticism of Paterno

Penn st admins have been wanting to get rid of joe pa for several years now but were caught up in their own glorification of joe pa and all that he had done as a coach so when this ugly situation came to light thats why joe pa is gone and not mcquerry right now ... No its not right but thats the way it is right now

I'm with you, 100%. I think anyone that knew, should have been let go that night. period.

  • I think the fact that McQueary was able to walk in on Sandusky is the biggest shame of all. We will never know all the facts but this cover up started long before that day, and look how long the cover up continued after that day. A lot of very mature adults have been lying for a long time and Sandusky didn't stop coaching in 1999 for some other bogus reasons.

  • The overall point of this post was to mention the death of a legend not to start discussion of wut should or shouldnt have been done...like him or not he was a legend and a legend has passed...nothing else in regards to JoePa matters nemore..

I think you need to define the term legend. I have heard him called a legend, I have heard him called a hero. Bullshit. He is not a hero nor is he a legend. He coached football.

You want to read about a hero or a legend? Look up Smedley Butler or Chesty Puller or General Patton. People need to put things in perspective.
