Yeah, and the Ramblin' Wreck has won National Championships in the not-too-distant-past. I just don't think school 14, IF you have added FSU, Clemson and Notre Dame to the existing line-up, needs to be any sort of powerhouse. The conference will be neck and neck with the SEC as the strongest football conference. Our boys may need a breather every now and then, ASSUMING that GT remains a bottom feeder. Someone is going to have to bring up the rear. I don't want it to be us. And, if they join the Big XII, I think it's far from certain that they would be a push over.

I'll admit that I can't figure out what to make of Louisville. They have nice facilities; their program seems to do well financially; we have a bit of a rivalry; they are close to us; they have a really good basketball program, and they have good fan support. Their football flirted with excellence, but really has not made the push into the big time.
I could live with them, but I think the three factors I listed for Ga Tech are more important, especiallt the TV market and the link to recruiting in Georgia, and there may be one more in Tech's favor- it is rumored that Notre Dame wants them to be in. And, if that is the price of getting Notre Dame in on FAIR terms, I would say do it.

Where is this "GT is a bottom feeder" and "9 years out of 10 they won't be competitive" stuff coming from?
And to answer your question, even though I'm obviously not a WVU fan, I'd say Miami and GT to get to 14. I don't care about ND although I get the money aspect. I also don't see why they'd join a conference if there is an at-large bert to the playoffs. I would like VT but don't expect them to be interested if the SEC's an option. That leaves UMD (recruiting, markets, potential WVU rival), Pitt (strictly a WVU rival) and UL (basketball, good overall athletics, potential WVU rival).

I know I am going to get bashed for this, but I personally would just like to add markets and add a couple door mats. I would rather see Cincy over the Ville for the tv market, VIA, recruiting. I know Cincy has poor facilities. Also Is like the concept of adding Rutgers for the same reasons. Then id go to the BIG and try to still Illinois. If you can grab those and FSU, you have markets that you weren't covering and a recruiting advantage

I agree. It is cool to say you have the toughest schedule, but that more times than not leads to 3 or 4 losses per year. I say it on here constantly, but our fanbase is very fickle. I will guarantee that if we lose 2 games early in any season that the stadium will not be full unless we are playing OU or TX at the end of the season. I predict that winning more games against average competition will make the University more money than losing a couple to top notch talent.
The only reason I want to expand would be to split the conference into divisions. This would potentially allow for 1 or 2 more OOC games that could be scheduled by the AD and possibly getting an additional home game.

Would like to see Big 12 the first Super Conference. Adding the following teams:
FSU Clemson ND Pitt (Don't want to waste a non-conference game on them) VT (Want that rivalry back) Louisville (Have been a good BE rivalry in the 2000's)
Would like to see a Big 12 East and West Divisions:
West: Baylor Kansas Kansas State Oklahoma Oklahoma State Texas Texas Tech TCU
East: WVU FSU Clemson ND Pitt VT Louisville Iowa State
Play 9-10 conference games. All 7 other teams in your division and 2-3 in the other. Only thing I don like about this is not playing Oklahoma, Texas and some of the other teams every year. This would be a great conference and cut down on travel costs.

ps... I like your comment and I also like the new teams you selected. What could be done, is the way the pros make up their schedules. If you finish 1-3 in your division, you will play the 1-3 teams in the other division. 4-6 plays 4-6 and the 7th place teams play and then they randomly get to play 1-2 other teams from the other conference.
If we are going to 14 or 16 team conferences, then the playoffs are the best scenario because conference teams are going to beat each other up and the undefeated or 1 lose teams will be a thing of the past.
In reality, I look for Pitt to the B1G, VT to the SEC. ND is iffy between the B1G and Big 12. So I look for the following teams to the Big 12 as sure bets... FSU, GT, Clemson, Louisville
