Stedman on Copeland and McCartney

  • "We've just go to move forward without those guys, and that's how we're going to do it," Bailey said.
"For somebody to leave the team in the middle of the season, that's not good at all. But we don't need no dead weight on the team that's not going to come out and help us try to win or be bringing negative energy."

  • That's too bad. Obviously, we have not heard any official announcement on Ivan because the program wants to avoid the embarrassment of 2 (or more?) players walking out at the same time.

  • McCartney can blame nobody but himself. I've never seen that highly rated of a WR not be able to catch the ball.

Embarrassment? I don't see how it reflects badly on WVU, at all. Says way more about Copeland and McCartney than it does WVU. Not that I think anything negative about Copeland, he's a kid who was obviously homesick. It happens.

Stedman I think speaks for all of us right there, great job by that young man. Too bad for the quitters, they will look back one day and regret it but like someone said, it happens, I hope they get their act together in the real world outside of football.

you guys nuts if you think 3 players walking out at the same time won't get wvu hammered in national perception. but go ahead and play dumb if you like

Yes, 3 players are walking out at the same time, but for 3 completely different reasons. This will come out and I agree with most that this will be a mere blimp on the radar nationally. Sorry to respectfully disagree with you.

like i said above wvu handled the pr well by spacing the announcements out. so, you're right.. this won't get much attention

I don't think the national media or potential recruits will really care about Ivan and Copeland leaving the team. They haven't accomplished anything on or off the field. Who cares? No panic necessary. I'll be rooting for Nehlen and guys that WANT to play for us the rest of the season. Next man up.
