  • If the schedule holds I'll be there for the game but good to know that if it falls through I'll still be able to catch it, thanks for the post.

BTW heard that Nebraska is using a consultant for recruiting and they are using some events at their spring game ( which will also be televised) anyone know what they will be doing? It sounds like a good opportunity and something we may be able to work with as well, are we doing similar things at ours? Personally I'd be up for setting a world record for largest spring game tailgate competition;) but anything we may be able to use for a recruiting edge would be ok too.

That may be asking a bit much. I believe there are a handful of schools that routinely sell out their soring games. IIRC watching one of Bama's spring games on an ESPN station and they had 90k + in attendance. Based on history Im guessing that 30k would be a good number for us?

  • Yea prob 30, good to see around 45 to celebrate the conference move but yes seems like the number last years was in that range. I'll take a state record too...

Just heard ESPN 360 might broadcast the game, if not then most likely MSN would.

  • Thanks for the information and or post Scragg. I can't wait to watch it on television. How do you feel about the defense this year and of course Ford Childress? Thanks.

  • The defense is going to surprise many with the speed on that side of the ball and how well they are picking up the scheme ... The Dline is still a ? Mark because of depth but should be fine ... Baring any significant injury this year ... This team can leg. Challenge Okla. for the top spot in the Conference ... Ford is like any freshman QB right now but has looked sharp for a freshman but again baring anything significant being worst case scenerio he will carry a clip board and RS this year

  • The LB corps looks to be the strength of the D ... Rigg who was fantastic after his surgery last year has moved into the middle and Francis has been in beast mode most of the spring ... Barber in the middle who was stout last year and throw in garvin ... Thats a speedy group ... With alot of depth with Gloster, Anderson, Pettaway, Redman, Bruce. Thats a very VERY solid group to have ... DB is going to be interesting to see how quickly Pat can come back full strength even tho it was a minor break its still on his foot at a position that puts alot of pressure from cutting and reacting ... But your 2 deep at both corner spots but talent but young ... The starters looking to be Miller and Jenkins with Banks and Williams showing real promise and the safeties are deep with talent too but young ... This year will see some excellent drives and the. Some head scratchers but this will be a top 50 defense and with the expected top 5 offense. A real threat not just for the conference but also a possible run at a BCS title ... WVU wont have the same chance the next few years like it has right now to say that

I agree if the defense can be Top 30-40 wiith our offense this is the year. We should score 40+ against most teams on our schedule except maybe Oklahoma and Texas. Our defense can give up some points as long as they are opportunistic and get turnovers as well.

My main concern is the d-line holding up. Something happens to Clarke or Wright we are in deep crap. Offensively it will be awhile before we see a tandem of Geno, Tavon, Stedman, I-Mac and look for JD Woods to have a big year as well. If Garrison is healthy our backfield will be good too with Alston, Buie and I bet 1 of the freshmen RB makes their mark as well.

We need to do it this year or it will be 2-3years down the road before we are this good again on offense. By the time Ford is a Junior and one of the RB's we get this year or next will be a stud and have guys like Robinson, McManus and Copeland at WR who can make big time plays. In 2-3 years our defensive talent and depth should be much better as well. We need a BCS game again this year because I don't think we'll be good enough until around 2014-2015 again.
