We recently did extend the Maryland deal until at least 2017. We also start playing ECU again in 2013 in a series that lasts until 2018.

I don't care if we ever play pitt again and I have been going to pitt-WVU games since the early 60's. pitt needs us more than we need them; when they host Wake Forest, there will be 9,000 people in the stands

Screw Pitt, they left us for dead.

We've been playing sPitt since the 1890s. I know the people in the Southern end of the state think that VT is our biggest rival. But, they've never taken part in some very unique games with sPitt. Like our 63-49 win in the 60's. Our 36-35 loss under Bobby B. in 1972. (He was hung in effigy for that). There's one other classic one that I won't mention. How about us knocking off an undefeated Tony Dorsett team. And coming about three feet short of a field goal against Danny Marino, Mark May, and Hugh Green (we had Darryl Talley that year). We've had a lot more good, interesting games with sPitt than VT. And, let's not forget VT left us standing at the alter 8 years before sPitt and 'Cuse did.

I am 26 years old. I grew up with WVU and VT going at it like cats and dogs. Pitt is a historical rival. VT is a much more relevant rival. I am from Parkersburg, so not southern WV. Live in North Carolina now.

Pitt threw everybody a curve ball. The Big XII really wanted Pitt and WVU. But OU had to have their dramatic moment, and out of panic, the ACC invited Pitt and Syracuse seemingly out of nowhere. I would have loved to have Pitt and WVU in the Big XII.

Although all of us have an opinion one way or another (I'm for continuing the Backyard Brawl), the decision will not be made by us. The determining factors will be the opinions of both ADs, and the key alumni at both schools. If the fat cats want to see it, and the ADs and coaches agree, then it will be a done deal. sPitt saw their rivalry with PSU drop years ago. My concern is will sPitt want to replace WVU with PSU. as their key OOC game.
