Negativety!

  • Why is there so many negative comments? There is a long time till they sign on the dotted line. So what if we don't get this one or that one, our coaches will get a solid class if not one of the best WVU has ever had. They are going to get the ones that want to be a Mountaineer! The ones that choose elsewhere well let's show them on the field what they are missing. I bet there will be some that flip by signing day, or some that will wish they had. Either way I trust our staff and whoever they get we will be good. So stop the negativety and let's get the Big 12 started of being positive not negative. Any way I said my piece. LET'S GO MOUNTAINEERS! Big things are coming!

  • WVU is well known for having a lot of fans who ride an emotional roller coaster. These folks are as much a part of WVU football as orange and red leaves in late October, and it often seems like there as many of them as there are leaves in the fall.

    I doubt this will ever change.

    and I find it comical that all you guys are yes men and you don't know how to be objective sorry I don't agree withwhat everyone says and the other people on heredon't agree with what everyone says. that doesn't make it any less of mountaineer fans. I wany my mountaineers to win and compete for national titles so I want them to have the best recruits so sorry I dislike some of the recruits. and have objective opinion sometimes

    I want the best recruits also,but I also wanted to marry a supermodel. My wife is a supermodel to me but she may not be to you, or vice versa, but I'm not going to post how bad I think yours may look or act. Just like these recruits, you may not like the way they look, play, or act but you don't need to post bad about them or the coaches. Opinions are like a$$holes, everybody has one. But I'm not going to show everyone mine. Just sayin!

    We have a preseason top ten program and just joined the BIG XII, also our first year head coach just lead us to an Orange Bowl victory. What problem do you exactly have with the program at this point? The fact that we compete year in and out with the top teams proves we recruit well. Sure you might not like a recruit that we sign, but you are not the coaching staff we should trust them with making decisions on recruits. Your complaints fall on deaf ears when all you say is I want a 5* or 4* instead of this kid that is a 3* and wants to be a Mountaineer. I think everyone on this site wants to win a NC, but we are on the right track if you can't see that then you are blinded by your star ratings.

  • There should definitely be a balance in Message Board Posting. If everyone agreed, there would be no reason to have forums or open debate. We would just read an article and say, oh that or this is great. I would rather have a fanbase full of objective realists than a group of pure cool-aid drinking homers. To the opposite there are a group of fans that seem to only have a negative tone to all of their posts, this isnt good either. People have different perspectives on things and that is excellent. Also, just because someone has a different perspective doesnt mean they are Negative either. I try to look at things from my own perspective. On recruiting, I have no clue what any recruit is ranked. I watch the highlights, look at stats and then the competition they play against to develop my own opinion.

  • Nobody wants to kneecap you because you have a differing opinion...It's the fact that you can't substantiate anything you say that drives people insane. At least get all the facts before making snap judgments...Knowing what position a kid is being recruited for is likely a decent place to begin.

  • as long as our recruiting continues to improve so will we we are getting better recruits more and more highly recruited kids are at least looking at us now where as in the past wouldnt. one game isnt going to change the world our season last year wasnt pretty by any means we were lucky to be in the bcs IMO but the big game does show what can be done with this offense. as dana shows what kinda head coach he is and continues to improve so will recruiting and we are set to have a good year that will continue to get our name out there and we will continue to improve. things are looking good IMO bring on sept 1 !!!

    What about my statement makes you think that I am oblivious to the challenges that the BIG XII will present? I don't see why you are so worried we have an excellent program and world class players. I am sure you celebrated the move to the BIG XII like every other Mountaineer fan, but you are freaking out before we even play a game in the conference way to show your support.

  • Has OSU dominated us in recruiting even being in the BigEast?How bout KState?Kansas? Texas Tech? Because all of them have either won the conference or been a threat to win it in recent years, we will be fine,as was said, we gotta trust our leadership no matter how much better we all know we could do it.....LOL

If I could post a video, I think I would opt for the classic: "The future's so bright, I gotta' wear shades" by Timbuk3 - circa 1986 (for you yungin's)

  • I admit I get a bit disappointed when a recruit we really wanted goes elsewhere, but I am not the "sky is falling" type. It works itself out, and there is way too much time before signing day to get too worked up about any recruit.
    We could have a full class now, if the staff were so inclined, I'm sure of it. They know what they are doing. I trust them.

  • I agree with some of the comments about differing opinions are what drive discussion forums. That being said, I think it is all about how a person goes at it. I wouldnt expect everyone to agree with what I have to contribute. I also am not a big fan of the all is sunshine and over the top homer boards...you guys know the places if you have a different opinion or offer constructive criticism of any sort you become an outcast or get banned.

    Again, it is all in the delivery. If you disagree and can do so without attacking the person...I am all for some debate. When it becomes a "well you are stupid" type deal or something similar to the Noah Cotrill thread from years past....then this place turns into the BGN.

    Thus far I have found this place to be a pretty good mixture and enjoy how Jeff, AK, and Chris go about business. Hopefully the back and forth can remain civil.

    You're not objective, you're delusional. This is a post about being positive and in you swing with a blast of negativity. There's a reason I never joined Blue-Gold news and WVsports. FYI - the recruiting for the past 5 years has put WVU in a position where they are the favorite to win a deep Big 12 conference with more than 1 Heisman contender. You're like a Philadelphia fan; you boo your own teams.

    You seem to be a downer just for the sake of being a downer. Lighten up, have fun, we will be OK. It is way to early to worry, we have a whole season to play.
