Fab Melo ineligible for NCAA tourney

2012 NCAA tournament -- Syracuse Orange announce Fab Melo ineligible for tourney - ESPN

The top-seeded Syracuse Orange (31-2) announced on their website Tuesday that sophomore Fab Melo will not participate in the tournament due to an eligibility issue.

Does it really matter that much? So much of the tournament is luck and who upsets who. Cuse for instance could face Harvard in the sweet 16 and Texas or WVU in the final 8. If they have to go the traditional rout of 16,8,4,2,1,1 it will be a tough road but.....
Even without Melo, they're no worse than the 2nd best team in the east bracket. If they get over the initial emotional impact, I think tey will be a very ough out.

The cuse is an entire different team without fab melo had them winning no more though

They were 2-1 without Melo and their two wins were close ones over us and cincinnati. They were about 30-1 with him. This is a major hit. He's the only guy who can really play the middle of their zone
