James to Illinois..
Chestnut to Western Michigan...
Williams to Temple....
It is hard to figure all of these decisions. We really need some good recruiting news this weekend!
Hopefully Alford kicks it off on Friday...he would be great.
I think James and Chestnut's decisions were based on the staff having others higher on the board, and Williams wants to be the feature back and he wouldn't get that for atleast another 2+ years at WVU and possibly never. Also Temple has had some recent success putting out NFL caliber backs, and its closer to home
I am hoping this means we are running out of room in this class
Williams was the staff's choice...
I can't imagine James not being a top target...The only thing I've heard is that his grades may be a bit of a concern.
Chestnut's deal is strange...I've heard Coach G was enamored with him.
well..we have some more bad news...at least Per ESPN on Boyd. I posted this in the daily report but I'll do it here too..
The recruitment of four-star athlete Tyler Boyd (Clairton, Pa./Clairton) has taken another major turn.
Boyd and his family were scheduled to host West Virginia for an in-home visit Friday night, but his mother Tonya Payne said she spoke with the West Virginia coaches Wednesday night and that plan has changed.
“Home visit with WVU has been cancelled,” she wrote in a text message.
Boyd, who committed to Pittsburgh at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl on Jan. 5, officially visited West Virginia last weekend. Payne has been vocal in her disapproval of the Mountaineers as a potential landing spot for Boyd.
Payne confirmed that Pittsburgh will still have an in-home visit tonight with Boyd, ranked No. 165 in the ESPN 300. It will be the last visit Boyd receives from a school. More importantly, the Panthers will have been the only program to make an in-home visit with Boyd.
Payne said Tuesday she has never hosted a college coach in her home.
Newcomer Tennessee is still in line to get an official visit from Boyd this weekend despite the commitment of ESPN 150 receiver Marquez North. Payne said she has no reason to believe her son will not make the trip to Knoxville.
“He hasn’t said anything about not going to visit,” she wrote.
Boyd is No. 16 among athletes nationally but projected as a receiver.
Some people think football is a matter of life or death, but it's far more important than that.
ugh, par for the course the last 36 hours or so. Never loved our chances to flip him anyway
sometimes im not sure why i love to follow this stuff, not sure theres a more turbulent/fluid and utterly frustrating thing in sports
I thought we had about a 20% chance to land him which was up from 0 for most of the year. If this is true it is now back to ZERO!
I am not sure if I have witnessed a parent hold a grudge against a school as much as this. I can't fathom a parent choosing to completely undermine their kids wishes publicly. At least hear out all parties. Why burn a bridge?
Having all your options open would be the correct play here for this year and possibly in the future. It is not inconceivable to see our coaches in the NFL down the line and potentially controlling this kids future. Why piss someone off if you don't have to?
Remember the last kid we flipped from Pitt...probably Will Clarke, but the last one that got this much press was...Vince Beamer. Remember how that worked out? Not so good. Kids come and they go, I can only remember one kid that we didn't get that would have made a big difference in our program, Curt Warner.
My advice is to just relax and enjoy the ride...we had no idea what we had when Pat White and Steve Slaton came on board, but I bet we moaned and groaned about some kid we didn't get that year.
Geez, this kids mom seems like such a control freak. This is starting to seem more like where does mom want her kid to go and less about what her son actually wants for himself.
I can remember one parent being worse...and it was last year.
Not sure if everyone remembers but Landon Collins(#1 rated safety and from Louisiana) picked Bama over LSU and his mom ripped him on camera at the All American game
The thing with Boyd sucks. It should be a violation what his mom is doing. Watch the Blindside, it's similar
Mamma seems a little crazy, but she doesn't have a patent on interfering or interjecting herself in the recruiting/choosing a school thing.
Tajh Boyd's dad, Mamma Brunetti, and as others have mentioned Landon Collins mom last year went all kinds of wacko....come to mind. Some parents just march to a different beat. This may end up being a blessing in disguise? If she was so hell bent against WVU, it may have been a long struggle for him if he opted here.
Im rooting for Boyd to pull a Landon Collins move and go against his mom on this one.

Just let it go. His momma probably make him so unhappy his mind wouldn't be in the right place.
I don't know how you guys feel about it and obviously if you don't care then to each his own but I recommend we take it easy and try to not rip into this kid's mom in public. I've done it before myself and I've tried to start watching what I say about recruits and the people involved in their lives. People pay attention to this stuff.

Been saying this for a long time. With the twitter,fb, an message boards crap spreads faster than ever before. If Joe Blow mouths off about a player, recruit, or whoever it will spread an bite whoever said it in the arse at some point.
It's hard not to rip Boyd's mother a new one. She seems to be putting her own interests above her son's which is a shame because Tyler Boyd seems like a great young guy, whose only problem is that he is trying to appease to many folks.
I think Robert Sands was going to Pitt then Doc flipped him to WVU, that worked out very well, and hopefully Will Clarke will have great senior year.
Although we have plucked some good ones in the PA backyard....Hoss/Major/Logan/Beasley/Bulger. etc
