Why in the world would we hope that?
Especially when FSU, Clemson and GT are potentially out there. UL should be a fallback option at best.
Well for one I'm not a huge fan of having a conference member in every corner of the lower 48 like conference usa does. If anything Id' like the big 12 to pick up teams that make some geographic sense. I wouldnt even mind picking up teams like uva, vt, or cincy if the conference wants to go back to divisions and possibly create an east and west type of scenario.
What does geography have to do with realignment? It's all about the dough...Location is hardly a consideration in the whole process.
The Big 12 already performed a feasibility study on UL last year and my understanding is that they will cost us money. Why should we sacrifice our slice of the pie for someone who is going to impede our annual revenue? Cincy shouldn't even be on this conversation.
The Big 12 needs to get to 12 eventually, but adding two teams (UL & Cincy) that don't increase our annual revenue (other than the defacto portion from the championship game), makes zero sense. It needs to be the right two.
I will say that if UL is paired with FSU and our payout stays the same, I'm all for it.
Maybe because fsu and gt might end up in sec and or big
Expansion has been in favor of TV markets for now. The SEC added Texas A&M for the Dallas TV market and Missouri for the St Louis market. As TV markets go away then geography will play more into it.
I would rather the big 12 add loserville and fsu.
All I'm saying is that I'd rather atleast try and keep some sense of geographic relevance. I like the moves the big ten is making because atleast theyre in the same relative area of the united states. I dont really care too much about tv markets.
I would not be a fan of GT in the big 12, they are a small school and have already been overtaken in size by Georgia State in the Atlanta area and will eventually supplant them as the premier school. You need teams with growth potential. The only thing GT would bring is an academic reputation, (Another Duke).
I was taught to honor and respect my elders. They are getting much harder to find these days.
If the Big 12 does expand, the teams need to be geographically closer than Texas & OK!
GT would be a huge get for the B12, smack dab in the middle of the south and a huge TV market.
I find it hilarious that UofL could end up in the ACC, where WVU wishes they were all along, leaving your nearest conference rival 1000 miles away. Suck it WV.
If I remember correctly UL was begging and trying everything in the world to get in the big 12 but was shot down because they wanted WVU!!! You can have you acc if you want it. Not a football conference just like the big east
Have fun committing to the ACC only to have FSU, CLEM walk away. I've visited the FSU 247site the last couple of days and every single poster on their board wants out.. Some are saying "Independent." Good luck to Louisville once Charlie Strong leaves. LOL
WVU fans want nothing to do with the ACC. A lot less money, fewer marquee games for prime time, No chance for national championship due to a terrible strength of schedule...
ACC is the Big East 2.0. That is why FSU will be gone soon.
TV markets aren't a big deal to us & the BIG12 due to the way our tier3 is set up. Big TV markets are important to conferences with their own networks so they can sell the subscriptions in their local cable networks. The more subscriptions, the more $ to the teams.

I find it hilarious that you care enough to stop by our forum to tell us to "suck it". The butthurt is obviously still strong with Looneyville.
I don't know about you, but we are laughing all the way to the bank. Big12 $$$ > Big East or ACC $$$
A TV market that will fade as Georgia State captures it. GT is running on reputation at this time. Most of the alumni in the area will be from Georgia State. I would rather see them in the Big 12. The same could also be said of Miami and FIU. These schools have unlimited potential and the right conference would guarantee their success. As we all know it is all about TV sets turned on. GT and Miami no longer fit in that category.

Dude the acc isn't going to add loserville
Georgia State has absolutely nothing to do with Atlanta area TV. I've lived in ATL for 11 years and while they are an up and coming program, it will be decades, if ever, before they are a relevant national athletic program suitable for a major conference.
GT also sux - not much alumni support, a lot of international engineering students who dont care about sports.
They have a new hoops arena though and certainly could be relevant one day again in football but there are just way too many SEC teams chasing top talent in this state.

Agree, but GT is also in the same situation and they will not be a big player in the years to come. Not advocating Big 12 takes Ga ST, but GT is on the decline.
The issue as I see with the Big 12 minus 2, is we spend to much time looking at today and not what will be happening in years to come. It is very possible that the conference winner will have their own networks and not keep their own tier 3 rights. If that is correct the ACC could build their own network and be ahead of our in years to come. At issue with the Big 12 network is the Lonely Horn Network. We at Texas do not want to pass on the 15M per year and no other school would either. So where do we go?
Dude, what are you smoking? Saying GA state owns Atlanta market is like saying Farimont State owns the Morgantown market
At the present is does not mean GT will in the future. Ga ST has over 30,000 students and is projected to have 50,000 in a short time.( Not exactly a Fairmont St type school) Their games are played in the Ga Dome.

Love that picture of the cardinal outside looking in!!!!
Oh, boy. You are most certainly deluded. Do your best not to delude others. And, please, go back to wherever you came from (Which is the Big East, not the ACC.)
