The new rumor around town for the Big10 is no longer Clemson and GT but UVA and Boston College ... that is def. a better geografically fit and gets almost the entire New England market...
Big12 front is quiet currently although 12 teams are a sure thing
ACC looking to pluck LVille before UConn
MWC looking to retain Boise, San Diego, and add BYU back into the fold
most of this is already known yes but as the last time we had an expansion topic .. we can try to keep it all under one roof

Scragg, where's Rutgers in all of this? I thought I saw that Rutgers as going to announce their intentions to go to the Big 10. Had you heard anything along those lines?
Expected to be announced at around 2:30 today I believe ... they have accepted and everything now it just waiting for an announcement, the Rut.s Board Approved it yesterday
one point of note that the Big10 invite for both Maryland and Rut. is for the 2014-2015 academic year not next year
also .. the 50Mil buyout is in effect so Maryland is going to have to find the money somewhere even for a negiotiated amount ... Under Armor will NOT be helping out
I definitely would prefer to see the big ten go after uva and bc over gt and clemson. I would like to see the conferences keep their basic geographic locations instead of turning into what conference usa is.
Also, I would like to see the big 12 go after Louisville or Cincinnati just so we could keep a few of the old big east rivalries going.
I would've loved to see the Big 10 invite Boston College instead of Maryland. BC is a much better fit...IMHO.
Maryland is IN and Rut. is IN .. BC and UVA would be two more additions if they decided to do that
I would love to see the big XII get louisville. Don't have much love for Cincy. I would really like to see North Carolina get the shitter in all this. I am assuming that the ACC is just going to try and make a basketball conference?
With Ruts. leaving BE, Navy is now "re-considering" its commitment to joint the BE
The Big10 adds some more football cannon fodder but damn good bball league
This is getting more interesting by the minute and where is ND in all of this; they cann't like all these ACC defections
Is Notre Dame 'locked' in to ACC? will they be subject to 50 million buyout?
To an extent yes. Its much like the TCU issue with the BigEast .. while they havn't actually "joined" the league there is still a signed agreement to do so
I'd love to see them try and get out of their agreement with the ACC.
I would love to see that along with having to pay the $50mil to do so, and then eventually when "super conferences" are all formed they have to either get "all-in" one, or can never compete for a National Championship in college football!
I think the Big12 sits and waits. The BIG and SEC are running the show on this side of the map as far as expansion goes, once they have made their moves and are done then the Big12 gets their "non desirables", which will still be good for us. My worry is the PAC, do they reach for a market school for their tv or shoot for Texas and OU again?
FWIW.....Word is that Louisville and the ACC are in talks about Louisville coming onboard. They (the ACC) love the basketball side of UofL.
Rutgars made it "offical" and will join the big10 like Maryland in 2014
Crazy thing is we are tied with UL (164 i believe) in academics and is why we weren't considered...funny how things change....i hope the ACC burns
When was the Big 10 ever interested in Clemson or even BC?
The only part I have read about is GT and UVA.
As partner schools mainly but BC has legit interests just because of geographic and achedemic reasons
So who is the two to the Big 12 that will give us 12? Im assuming FSU an Clemson...right?
There almost 3 times as many Big10 alum in the north then south ... And Delany doesnt want them beoming another cusa or a dreaming big east ... He actually does care about geographic fit
Actually on the big12 side things are "quiet" except that ALOt of presidents/coaches ae saying move to 12 to help ease the pain of grind they all faced this year
L'ville has been in discussion with the BE, ACC, and Big12. L'ville can almost name its price it seems
Lets hope that the big 12 gives them the right price.
