NCAA needs to do something about this!
I was taught to honor and respect my elders. They are getting much harder to find these days.
6'1, 215lb, 4.46 40 and a 38 inch vertical.
For some perspective, as a RB, that would put him in the top 5 in the 40 and vertical.
As a CB, he'd have a top 5 vertical and a top 15 40 time.
As a safety, he'd be tied for 3rd in the 40 and 6th in the vertical.
Oh, I forgot to mention, this would be at the NFL Combine.
Then he should forego High School and College and go straight to the pros before he becomes injured. With this type of enabling and the sense of superiority that goes with it, many are not worth a damn by the time they get out of High School. How young is too young? If a 6th grader had these types of attributes would he be fair game also?
Well technically no, and technically this kid is to young to be "offered" a scholarship. But you can't stop them from promising them one when you're able to offer in their JR year.
"With this type of enabling and the sense of superiority that goes with it, many are not worth a damn by the time they get out of High School"
That's a great hypothetical statement pulled from absolutely nowhere with no facual basis.
So, you're saying the boy is going to be worthless because he got an early offer?
Do you know the kid? Maybe he'll work hard to keep his nose clean knowing a full ride to Alabama/LSU are out there.
And it's just an offer. What harm is it doing you or the kid? Alabama just signed a recruit this year that they offered when he was a freshman. Worked out for him.
What if this kid played football in Morgantown? Everyone would be begging for Dana to offer him.
Huggy started recruiting Levi Cook when he was 14. Same age as this kid. Shame on him.

I also don't believe any of the times that are listed in a kids profile. Every kid says he runs a 4.3-4.4 but lets be honest, 90% don't. If they did, then just imagine how many we would see at the combine each year.
Some people think football is a matter of life or death, but it's far more important than that.
I'm sorry...but that's just plain stupid. Kid doesn't even know his ass from a hole in the ground yet and he's already getting offers?
Montani Semper Liberi
Recruiting is alot about relationships if a staff can see without a doubt a kid has a chance to be something why not everyone else had the same opportunity. We all relate football to war so you know what's fair!
A lot of good points.
It's only an offer that can't be official for a few years yet. Doesn't hurt a thing, makes people talk.
I guarantee if this was a Morgantown kid everyone on his board would be screaming to Dana to start talking to him about playing at WV.
Not me...he's a kid
