It had been rumored for awhile that Klein Collins (TX) lineman Tyler Tezeno would be making his college choice any day now. While LSU seemed like the potential choice, the 6-foot-3, 285 pound prospect went a different way.
"I just committed to West Virginia," Tezeno told EerSports earlier today. "I have been talking to Coach [Shannon] Dawson the past couple days and he's been talking to my parents and we just decided it was time to make a decision."
"So I talked to him again this morning and committed."
The joy from the coaches was obvious.
"He was excited. He said it made his day," said the three-star, 89-rated lineman. "Then I talked to Coach Holgorsen and he was really pumped up about it and said I needed to get up there for a visit."
Although the offer from the Mountaineers came last month, Tezeno said he couldn't get West Virginia out of his head.
"They have always been on my mind, ever since they offered," he said. "I really like the people, the coaches, everything."
And the new conference played a big role, too.
"The move to the Big 12 definitely helped, too. That way my family can see more of my games."
Tezeno makes six commitments for the Mountaineers, choosing the Orange Bowl Champs over LSU, Arizona State, Boise State and more.
