Davis has been practicing with Miami this summer, but has reportedly left the team.
Exactly one year and two days ago, Coral Reef Senior (FL) cornerback Vernon Davis was one of the Miami Hurricane commitments EerSports predicted could flip due to NCAA sanctions.
While that didn't happen, word comes down today from Davis' father, courtesy of the Miami Herald, that his son will be transferring to West Virginia and hopes to enroll tomorrow.
Receiving an 84-rating from the 247Composite, Davis was a 5-foot-10, 170-pound cornerback with offers from Miami, Boston College, Ole Miss, West Virginia and more out of high school.
Davis will be required to sit out a year due to NCAA transfer rules, but it was likely that he would have redshirted this season anyway. He would be eligible to play in 2013 and would have four years to play four.
The University is not permitted to discuss Davis until his transfer papers come in, per NCAA rules. Once there is more information, EerSports will be sure to bring it to you.
