Preston committed to West Virginia late on Halloween night.
West Virginia got a treat late on Halloween night, when Jensen Beach (FL) linebacker Xavier Preston committed to the Mountaineers.
After officially visiting for the Georgia State game back in September, the highly-regarded prospect admitted that he was really feeling right at West Virginia.
"It felt like home," the 6-foot-2, 219-pounder told EerSports at the time. "It was everything I expected and more."
The trip vaulted the Mountaineers to the top of his list, but Preston said that he wanted to take the rest of his official visits, including stops at Rutgers, South Florida, Georgia Tech and more.
Eventually, though, he only took one more trip and decided he had waited long enough, committing to West Virginia this evening.
Preston was recruited by JaJuan Seider. He received a three-star, .8449-rating in the 247Composite as the nation's 65th-best outside linebacker.
Stay tuned to EerSports for more on his commitment, including a full analysis and interview.
