- West Virginia holds an all-time record of 3-2. Their most recent game was in 2007, when the Mountaineers traveled to Huntington for the first time since 1915. They emerged victorious, 48-23.

- In 1957, former fullback (and linebacker) Walter Easley was born. During his first two years in Morgantown, Easley registered 1,046 total yards and 12 touchdowns. After sitting out a year, he switched to linebacker in 1979, where he totaled 84 tackles. For his senior season, he flipped back to running back and added another 885 total yards and eight scores.
