Your morning look back, around the headlines and into the future.
On This Date:
- West Virginia holds an all-time record of 3-1. The three victories - Louisville (1985), Bowling Green (1991) and Western Michigan (1996) - were all at home, but the most recent game was a road trip to Madison, Wisconsin in 2002. The Mountaineers held the No. 21 ranked Badgers scoreless after halftime, but Wisconsin did as they pleased early, jumping out to a 34-3 lead and holding on for the 34-17 win.
- I'm not sure what happened nine months before this date, but September 7th was a busy one for Mountain Mamas. Former Mountaineers John LaSavage (1957), Al Pisula (1968), Bryan Washington (1974), Boo Sensabaugh (1978), Travis Garvin (1982), A.J. Nastasi (1980), Frank Young (1984) and Carl Williams (1979) were all born on this day.

Nugget of The Day:
- Four-star OL and WVU legacy Sam Mustipher says that instead of his usual recruiting contact - Daron Roberts - reaching out to him, he heard from Bill Bedenbaugh earlier this week. The talk included a discussion about multiple visits to see the Mountaineers play this fall. One visit has already been set up and VIP members can see it on the Visitors' List.
