- In 1974, former Consensus All-American linebacker Canute Curtis was born. In three years as a starter, he registered 189 tackles and 34.5 sacks before enjoying a six year NFL career.
- In 1972, former fullback Rodney Woodard was born. During his time in Morgantown, Woodard compiled 788 rushing yards, 340 receiving yards and a total of 14 touchdowns.
