- In 2011, Tony Matteo, Noble Nwachukwu and Sam Lebbie all committed to West Virginia. Matteo and Nwachukwu enrolled this summer while Lebbie is attending prep school in Atlatna and hopes to enroll in January.
- In 1984, former forward Kevin Pittsnogle was born. In four seasons in Morgantown, he averaged 13.3 points and 4.4 rebounds and sits among the Mountaineer leaderboard in several categories.
