- In 2003, running back Pernell Williams committed to West Virginia. In two years as a backup, he rushed for 510 yards and five touchdowns.
- In 1992, current Mountaineer small forward Keaton Miles was born. Last year he played in 32 games as a freshman and averaged 1.4 points and 1.9 rebounds.
