- In 1979, former defensive tackle Antwan Lake was born. Suiting up for the Mountaineers from 1998 through 2001, Lake finished with 87 tackles (15 for loss) and 10 sacks.
- In 1960, former Consensus All-American Darryl Talley was born. In his four year Mountaineer career, Talley registered 489 tackles (28 for loss), 19 sacks, five interceptions, seven pass breakups, four fumble recoveries and three blocked kicks. He then went on to star for the Buffalo Bills for the first 12 of his 14 years in the NFL.
