Morning Mashup - 6/29

Your morning look back, around the headlines and into the future.

Roderick Johnson

Johnson says he will "definitely" visit WVU this fall.

On This Date:

- In 2007, former defensive tackle Chris Palmer committed to West Virginia. The big, burly prospect was considered to be the next big thing, but shoulder injuries derailed his career.

- In 2010, one of the most highly sought after basketball recruits in the nation chose West Virginia: Kevin Noreen. Unfortunately for Mountaineer fans, Noreen has suffered season-ending injuries each of his two seasons in Morgantown.

Nugget of The Day:

- I shared with VIP members last night that American Heritage (FL) OL Roderick Johnson will "definitely" be visiting WVU this fall on an official. He is a Florida commit, but is looking around. One thing in the 'Eers' favor? He is teammates with athlete Marcus Davis, who just trimmed his list down to four with WVU on it. And his interview is scheduled to run here in a couple hours.
