On This Date:
- In 2006, offensive lineman Chad Snodgrass committed to West Virginia. The Cross Lanes native was a reserve all four seasons he was in Morgantown and graduated after this past year.
- In 1973, former forward Zain Shaw was born. Shaw came to West Virginia as a junior college transfer and played two solid seasons for the Mountaineers. In 1994, he averaged a respectable 9.2 points and 4.9 rebounds, but it was his 1995 season where he really stood out. As a senior he averaged 14.8 points, 6.6 rebounds and 2.2 assists.
