- The football team has an all-time record of 1-0. In 2005, West Virginia finished off their season with a 28-13 victory over USF. Pat White ran for 177 yards and two scores while Jahmile Addae, Larry Williams and Dee McCann each picked off a pass on defense.

- The basketball team has an all-time record of 15-7. In 1994, the Mountaineers set the school record - that still stands today - for most points in a game in a 132-82 victory over Alaska-Fairbanks. A total of seven players scored in double figures, led by Seldon Jefferson with 20.
