- The basketball team has an all-time record of 19-12. In 1968, Ron "Fritz" Williams and Bob "Hummer" Hummell led the Mountaineers to a thrilling 89-86 overtime victory over Davidson. Williams finished the game with 30 points and nine rebounds, while Hummell chipped in 25 points of his own.
