Morning Mashup - 10/4

Your morning look back, around the headlines and into the future.

On This Date:

- West Virginia has an all-time record of 11-4. The most recent was a 2008 victory over Rutgers, 24-17. Pat White got injured in the 3rd quarter and Jarrett Brown replaced him, but neither QB could get the offense running. Also relevant today because Scarlet Knights head coach Greg Schiano had his players dive at the ball while WVU was kneeling in victory formation. They actually succeeded in knocking it loose and recovering, but were flagged for offsides.

- In 1973 former fullback Kantroy Barber was born. In two seasons, Barber had 823 total yards and 10 touchdowns before being drafted in the 4th round by the New England Patriots.
