Immokalee (FL) slot receiver Jacky Marcellus just couldn't wait any longer. The 5-foot-8, 175-pound prospect with offers from Cincinnati, Rutgers, Minnesota, Vanderbilt and more finally pulled the trigger - West Virginia is his new home.
"I've been thinking about this for two weeks already," said Marcellus. "Finally, today, I decided to commit. I told the coaches earlier and then called you."
The three-star, 86-rated recruit says that he just couldn't get the Mountaineers off his mind and that was the main reason he got his decision out of the way.
"West Virginia is all I think about," he said. "When I see myself playing, all I see is a West Virginia uniform."
His coaches and mom checked with him to make sure he was ready, and Marcellus responded with a resounding yes.
"My coaches told me if that's where my heart is, then go for it," he said. "And my mom asked me if that's where I wanted to go for the next four years. I told her 'yes, absolutely. There's no doubt about it.'"
Up next is his first visit to Morgantown, something he says could be finalized within the next couple days.
"I'm trying to go up there as soon as possible. I'm checking my schedule with the coaches' schedule," said Marcellus. "By tomorrow we should know when I'm going to take my official."
