Hubbard (OH) offensive guard Matt Jones has committed to West Virginia during his unofficial visit to Morgantown today.
Jones is WVU's sixth commitment in 2015.
"Yes sir, I committed," Jones texted EerSports.
The 6-foot-4, 290-pound prospect had long been leaning toward the Mountaineers before choosing them over offers from Kentucky and Toledo. Illinois, Ohio State, Michigan State and more were also showing interest.
“They have been recruiting me pretty hard,” said Jones. “I have been talking to Coach (Tony) Gibson and Coach (Ron) Crook. They said they like how I play and my personality, and think I would be able to help them win.”
Jones is the second Hubbard (OH) player to pledge to West Virginia today, joining quarterback Brennan Wassil, who committed as a preferred walk-on for 2014.
Jones received a three-star, 0.8830-rating in the 247Sports Composite as the nation's 46th-ranked offensive tackle.
With Jones' commitment, West Virginia jumps to No. 7 in the 2015 247Sports Team Rankings, moving ahead of Arkansas.
Stay tuned to EerSports for more on his commitment, including a full analysis and interview.
