Today may be the first day that early JUCO enrollees may sign their Letter of Intent, but those who are not may verbally commit at any time - and that's exactly what Arizona Western (AZ) linebacker D'Vante Henry did today.
Henry is commit No. 21 for WVU.
"Committed," was all the text said that the 6-foot-6, 210-pound prospect sent to EerSports early this morning.
When we followed up, he confirmed the news, but said that he has not signed with West Virginia.
"I most likely will (sign) in February," which is when summer enrollees, like Henry, are first allowed to sign.
There was a wait, though, as Henry needed an opportunity to talk to the coaches.
"I told them through Facebook, but I'm waiting on a call from them," he said.
With the coaching staff busy preparing for the Pinstripe Bowl, it took a little while for confirmation.
It eventually came and the three-star, 89-rated prospect became the 22nd member of the 2013 recruiting class.
For a full breakdown of what Henry brings to the table and analysis of his commitment, stay tuned to EerSports.
