A lot of uncommitted prospects are getting love lately, but the coaching staff has given a lot of attention to current members of the class, too. So we'll do the same.
Christian will enroll at WVU next month.
Moving around the list of West Virginia commits, we come across linebacker Hodari Christian. We exchanged a few texts with the McKeesport (PA) star talking about early enrollment, non-flammable furniture and Coach Dunlap's dance moves.
EerSports: You're an early enrollee, but do you have anything left to do before you can - exams, for instance? Or are you just on break until you enroll?
Hodari Christian: I will probably have some small test before I leave. I will also need to present a senior project for me to be done.
EerSports: Anything else you're trying to do before you head up to WVU?
Christian: Nah, not really. I'm just going to hang with some friends, that's it.
EerSports: What about when you get on campus? What are you going to do first?
Christian: First, find my classes, then see what my workout schedule is going to be. Then I'll get to know some people around campus.
EerSports: Well, I've asked the other guys - what's the one thing WVU has that other schools didn't? What do you wish you could change?
Christian: Burning couches! *laughs* Just joking, but WVU has a great atmosphere and the best fans I ever saw. To be honest, I don't think I would change anything about WVU.
EerSports: You bringing a couch down or do you not want to risk it?
Christian: Just non-flammable furniture.
EerSports: *laughs* So I asked Chavas (Rawlins), too - you going to be able to hold back your feelings for Pittsburgh while at WVU? You root for any of their pro teams?
Christian: I'm a diehard Steelers fan, but the 49ers are nice.
EerSports: Speaking of the NFL, where do you think Geno (Smith) and Tavon (Austin) get drafted?
Christian: I think they are both going to be first round picks.
EerSports: And the other mandatory, very important question - what type of pizza, toppings and crust?
Christian: My favorite pizza comes from a place up here called Vincent Pizza, with extra pepperoni and sausage and cheese. It's the best pizza I've ever had.
EerSports: So Chavas tells me that it's scary to ride with Coach Dunlap. Are the stories true?
Christian: I rode with Coach Dunlap one time and he wasn't that bad. He showed me some back roads.
EerSports: What is your relationship like with him? He pretty laid back?
Christian: Yea, he is a very cool guy. On my official visit last weekend, the team was in warm ups and they had music playing. Coach Dunlap looked at us and started dancing. It was the funniest thing I have ever seen man. Hilarious. *laughs*
EerSports: *laughs* Does he have ANY moves at all?
Christian: Nah, I think his dancing days are over. *laughs*
EerSports: Well, I think we'll end on that note. You have anything you want to say to WVU fans?
Christian: I'm truly blessed t play for WVU and I will give my all for them!
