On Thursday, West Virginia picked up a commitment from Dunbar (MD) defensive end Marvin Gross, giving the Mountaineers yet another commit who is in the Top 50 at his position.
The 6-foot-4, 215-pound pass rusher has visited Morgantown multiple times and admitted that he was close to a commitment after his last visit in September. However, he had intended to visit fellow finalists Washington and Colorado before making a decision.
Ultimately, though, the calling of the nearby Mountaineers was too much and the three-star, 87-rated prospect announced over Twitter and confirmed with EerSports his intention to wear the Gold and Blue.
Gross' pledge gives West Virginia 17 total commitments for the 2013 class and moves them to No. 32 in the country based on the 247Composite. For schools with 17 or fewer commits, WVU comes in at No. 10.
